Eaton upon Tern Ebenezer Primitive Methodist Chapel

The original Primitive Methodist chapel in Eaton upon Tern was built in 1842, just a year after the Primitive Methodists had arrived in the parish. This chapel was replaced in 1895 by a new chapel built, on a site given by Mr R. T. Heatley. The opening of that chapel (even though it is called Eaton on Fern)  is noted in the Primitive Methodist magazine of 1897.  It cost £300 of which all but £20 had been raised.

You can read more about the chapel on Janice Cox’s Shropshire’s Non-Conformist Chapels website here.  The chapel has now closed. There is a house on the site.
