    “OPENING OF A NEW CHAPEL.
Divine service was held in the new Primitive Methodist Chapel for the first time on the 10th inst., when two sermons were preached by the Rev. W. E. Saunders, of Dawley. The opening services were continued on Sunday last, the Rev. H. Higginson, of Newcastle-under-Lyne, being the preacher. On Sunday week, £16 0s. 10d. was collected in aid of the trust fund, and last Sunday upwards of £19 was received. A very successful tea meeting was also held on Monday, followed by a public meeting in the evening … The new building will accommodate about 300. Its etimated cost is £800, towards which nearly £300 have been realised. The style of the chapel was alluded to in terms of approval by several of the speakers at the meeting.”
