Weston Common Primitive Methodist chapel

The opening of Weston Common Primitive Methodist chapel on Sunday 28th April 1850 is recorded in the Primitive Methodist magazine by John Morton. Opening preachers included P Pugh, J Morton and J Drayton.

The chapel was brick built and slate roofed with red pine floorboards and four Gothic windows. John Eyres gave the land and the building cost  around £112. Mrs Jarvies gave a pulpit cushion. Grid reference: SJ 42397 26326

You can read more about it on Janice Cox’s Shropshire’s Non-Conformist chapels website here. It tells us that the chapel still exists but is unrecognisable.
