When Somerset was first missioned,  the first camp Meetings were held in in 1826 at Clandown and Nunney.  The 1867 Register of Non Conformist worship includes a society at Clandoure [Clandown] meeting in a cottage occupied by Chr. Sheppard.

In time a chapel was built in Springfield Place which is now in residential use.
