Hemington Primitive Methodist chapel

The return from the Primitive Methodist chapel at Hemington to the 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious worship was completed by William Leaker, the minister.

Her tells us that the chapel was built in 1830 and held 120.  On Census Sunday, 50 attended in the morning and 120 in the evening.  There was also a Sunday school with 36 attending in the morning and 68 in the afternoon.

The chapel still exists in residential use.
