Saxon Street Primitive Methodist chapel
Keith Guyler 1992

Saxon Street is south east of Newmarket. Saxon Street Primitive Methodist chapel was opened in 1884.  The 1885 Primitive Methodist magazine contains a note of the opening of a fine commodious chapel to replace their old chapel.

The churcdh website tells that it is still open in 2015.  It is good to learn that it has a membership  of 13, a congregation of 14 with between 2-5 young people attending ‘Searchers’.  What made me smile was that, on Monday nights, whilst there is Line Dancing in the Hall, there is Keep Fit in the church. There’s a sermon in there somewhere.
