Offen Lane Primitive Methodist chapel

Horncastle circuit - but where is it?

I’ve spent ages trying to track down Offen Lane Primitive Methodist chapel.  John Jackson writes about the opening of what he calls Offen Lane Primitive Methodist chapel in the 1839 Primitive Methodist magazine.  He tells us that the chapel opened on January 6th 1839  when the preachers were Bro Beckerlegge (that’s a name that crops up a lot in Primitive Methodism) and Bro Jackson.

The new chapel measured 27′(l) x 18′(w).  Particular thanks were due to Mr. Thomas Daft who gave the land and to the farmers who gave most of the leading. The seats were all let.

Is Offen Lane a separate settlement in Lincolnshire> Is it a part of Horncastle itself?
