Treharne Primitive Methodist chapel

A year after he village of Treharne was missioned by the Merthyr Tydfil circuit, the memorial stones for a chapel were laid. A society of twenty members and an active Sunday school had been established.

Where is Treharne? I don’t know where it is and neither the Ordnance Survey  nor Google are saying.

  • As soon as I saw the name, I thought it was probably ‘Treharris’ and not ‘Treharne’ – maybe just a printing or transcription error in 1891. Google says: ‘Treharris is a small town and community in the Taff Bargoed Valley in the south of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough, South Wales.’
