Comments about this page
The 1879 Primitive Methodist magazine (page 700) records the laying of the foundation stones for a new Primitive Methodist chapel at Summerhill in the Pembroke Dock station.
The opening of Summerhill Primitive Methodist chapel is noted in the Primitive Methodist magazine Monthly Chronicle section (April 1880 page 251). It notes that Prims had held services in the village for 40 years but had only just built the chapel. It cost £250.
Centenary celebrations were held in July 1979 by which time only one evening service was being held each week. The chapel closed in1986 and the last service was held in August of that year. The chapel was eventually sold for £10.000 and converted into a private dwelling.
