The Primitive Methodist magazine of September 1900 records a series of new halls that had been erected in Birmingham at a cost of not less than £6,000 or £7,000. The new buildings would give “a presence worth of the Connexion”.
- Conference Hall
- The Church of the Saviour
- Sparkhill chapel
The Sparkhill church is “a model of what a Primitive Methodist place of worship should be”
The 1905 magazine commends it as “a beautiful structure in a commanding position.” The organ cost over £1,000, the gift of Henry Adams of Sheffield, and the choir was “one of the finest and most artistic in Primitive Methodism”. It had 100 members with usual attendance of 600 at evening services. A new hall seating 1,100 had been erected.
