The 1851 Census of Places of Public Religious Worship contains a return for a preaching place in Fyfield (Wiltshire). The return is signed with his mark by William Ashe, the tenant of the cottage the meeting room was a part of.  The dwelling house had been built before 1800.

13 people attended a morning service and 57 an afternoon one.
