The 1885 Primitive Methodist magazine contains a note of the opening of a new Primitive Methodist chapel at Kilnsea in the Patrington station. T Grindell of Skeffilys gave the land and H Hodge of Hull placed a neat iron chapel on it. Mr Hodge had been born in the village and early Prim worthies, including Clowes and Oxtoby preached in his father’s house.
The 1890 and 1910 Ordnance Survey map shows a Primitive Methodist chapel on the western side of Easington Road as it approaches the coast at the Crown and Anchor. It was converted into a cottage circa 1917 and has gone by the 1928 map.
