Winksley Primitive Methodist chapel

The opening of Winksley Primitive Methodist chapel is recorded in the Primitive Methodist magazine of 1889. Described as “neat and substantial” it had a small school room separated by a wooden partition .  They had raised around half the cost.

The 1907 Ordnance Survey map shows a Prim chapel at the point where Fountain’s Gate becomes Winksley Banks Road, opposite the turning to what becomes Green Lane. There is a bungalow on the site by the 1976 map.
