Thank you so much for your excellent website and in particular for this preachers’ plan on the Pickering Circuit. I am writing up the history of my Cropton ancestors. I believe my 4 x great-grandmother – a poor, single mother in the 1850s – found acceptance in the Primitive Methodist Chapel at Cropton. She later married at Pickering Primitive Methodist Chapel. I was fascinated to read this plan and delighted to see another ancestor listed as a preacher. This has sent me down another avenue of research. Marvellous!
