This note provides some information about the descendants of Elizabeth Sadler, nee Belmont in America.
— I’m USA born & raised, age 76 and now living in Kansas City, Missouri.
— I’m delving into a bit of family history, recently having traveled to Norfolk, Nebraska – where Joseph Josiah Parker (my great grandfather) was pastor of the First Congregational Church – 1885-1902).
— His wife was Elizabeth Sadler and together they had 10 children (more or less five were born in the UK – England and also Belfast, Ireland; the others born in the US – 1885 or later).
— Their third-born child was William Belmont Parker, my grandfather – but someone I never know, as he died in 1943.
— Someone in the wilds of this frontier region (we’ll likely never who for certain) spotted him in his teen years as a person deserving of the best in education and funded his education to Andover Academy (leading “public school” – UK-speak) and to Harvard College – see Wikipedia.
— My recent trip to Nebraska produced a West Coast (California) contact – Alice Tollefson – who has done extensive family research and told me on the phone that she had visited Tattenhall and had become acquainted with members of the Sadler family.
— That’s it for now.
