I have the Bible which belonged to Jane Prince. (1887 -1985). She was presented the Bible in 1901 when she was 15. In the opening page in her hand writing it says it was a present from the Irby Hills Sunday School. It goes on to say that on May 22nd, 1905, she was ‘born again’ : ‘the happiest day of my life, when Jesus washed my sins away’. My Aunty Janey – who we always called Aunty Ginny – came to Australia in 1914 and lived in Adelaide. She grew up in the slums of Liverpool and worked as a domestic servant all her life.
