My great grandfather, William Johnson, was born 1874 in Wolverhampton, but was raised since age of 7 by family in the Red House hardware shop in Wellington, Shropshire.
He was a devout Primitive Methodist who preached his first sermon aged 11 at Burcot House on Shrewsbury Rd. He never drank alcohol in his life and lived till he was 96. He brought up all his family as Methodist. I myself attended Tan Bank Methodist Church as a youngster.
