I am seeking information on John Augustus Rodgers b.1861 in Kingston, Jamaica. He came to the Kingsbridge, Devon area circa 1900 having spent some time previously in Lincolnshire.
I have read that a branch of the church was formed in Kingsbridge in 1860 but can find no written evidence at the local museum.
He married a local woman, Susan Bessie Jarvis in 1898 and lived in the village of South Milton, then in Salcombe.

A granddaughter of John Augustus would dearly love to know why and how he came to this area. Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
