Frankland, Esther (nee Neech) (1842-1903)

Transcription of Obituary In the Christian Messenger

Mrs. JAMES FRANKLAND was born at Beccles, August, 1842. Her parents, Samuel and Esther Neech, were members of our Church there. Their home was open for rest and hospitality to the early ministers of our Church in that part of East Anglia. She was thus from her earliest years in close and constant contact with Christian influence. In early life she yielded herself to the Lord Jesus Christ, and continued in Church membership until her death on July 12th, 1903. She was married in 1866 to Mr. James Frankland, an honoured and worthy class leader and local preacher at Grayshott Road, Lavender Hill Circuit. Their married life was singularly happy and her husband testifies she was a good wife, and her children rise up and call her blessed. Thirty years ago she came to London, and for twenty-eight years our sister was associated with our Grayshott Road Church. She took a great delight in the services of the sanctuary and especially In the class meeting. During all these years she was deeply and practically interested in all that concerned the Church’s welfare. She was of a kindly and sympathetic disposition and the succourer of many. We have no doubt she has reaped the reward.
