Buckingham, Elizabeth (1799-1836)

Died, Dec. 13,1836, at Redland End, near Lacey Green, in the High Wycombe circuit, Elizabeth Buckingham, aged thirty-seven years.  Until the spring of 1835, she followed the course of this world; but curiosity inducing her to hear the P. M. missionaries, she was deeply convinced of her lost state; and at the after prayer meeting she was made happy, and went home rejoicing.  She joined the society and was an example to all.

Her husband being out of the way, her trials were great; and she lived two miles from the means of grace, yet she constantly attended when health would permit; and during her protracted illness the Lord was her support.  And it was edifying to hear her speak of the loving kindness of God her Saviour.  This was the joy of her heart.  And bidding adieu to some of our sisters in the Lord, she sweetly fell asleep in the arms of Jesus.
