Cope, Elizabeth (1768-1838)

Died, January 5, 1838, at Warton in Lichfield circuit, Elizabeth Cope, in the 70th. year of her age.  Several years ago she was convinced of sin, — sought and found the Lord, — united with the society, and evinced her love to God — his people and his cause.

She was an industrious wife — an affectionate parent — a peaceable neighbour — a faithful friend and a steady member.  Her afflictions were great and complicated, but she endured them patiently.  Her end was peaceable and triumphant.  She said, “Weep not for me, I am happy.  Glory to God, he is with me now.  I am not afraid to die.  I am going to heaven.  Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly.”  And she fell asleep in Jesus.
