Transcription of Magazine ‘Sketch’

Mr. Thomas Cooke, of Oakhanger, is the highly esteemed Steward of Sandbach Circuit. Born at Haslington in 1853, he has passed the meridian of life, but is still in every sense juvenile. He is the inestimable product of the village, parental training, and the grace of God. He has filled the office of Steward greatly to his own credit for ten years. He has had a long and close attachment to the Sunday School; and is at present Class leader, Trustee for several Chapels, Local preacher, and member of District and Sunday School Committees. He has been delegate to District Meeting, and has represented his District at the Triennial Sunday School Conference. In all these positions he has won the confidence and respect of those he has met. His wife is a genuine help-meet, and of his family and home he has occasion to be justly proud. May he long live.

Geo. Lee
