Jones, Joseph (d1915)
Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by A.W.
The passing of Bro. Jones has involved Blackheath Circuit and Long Lane Society in an irreparable loss. A native of Long Lane, where he was born some forty-six years ago, he devoted himself unsparingly to the interests of our little cause. In 1891 his business called him to Birmingham, and although barely four-and- twenty he received from Long Lane Society, in an illuminated address, a permanent testimony of the service he had rendered and the esteem in which he was held.
In Birmingham he threw himself into the work of the Sunday school and church with great devotion. Seven or eight years ago he resumed his residence at Long Lane. Largely through his initiative and generosity the present beautiful school-church was erected. In his domestic life he was ideally happy, finding a twin soul in the one who now mourns her unspeakable loss.
He passed away on March 21st.
I have been unable to identify Joseph unambiguously in online records. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
