Jopling, Mildred Dorothy (1891-1911)
Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by C.H. Watkinson
There passed to her rest on September 21st, 1911, one of the brightest saints it has been our privilege to meet in the person of Mildred Dorothy, the beloved daughter of the Rev. J. and Mrs. Jopling. Born at Canterbury, she was from birth more or less an invalid. About six years ago she was seized with an illness which necessitated the relinquishing of all her studies and the abandonment of a course which promised a brilliant future.
To visit her in her moments of pain and to witness her quiet resignation and at times cheery hopefulness was to make one feel that we were the ones to be condoled with. The funeral service was conducted in our Saville Street Church, North Shields, by the Rev. W. Cooke, assisted by the Revs. J. Butcher, J. Palmer, M.P. Davison, and Mr. J. G. Marriott. The body was laid in a quiet shady corner in the beautiful cemetery at Preston.
