Smith, John (d1915)

Transcription of obituary published in the Primitive Methodist Magazine by W.D.

The Silsden Circuit has sustained a sad loss in the death of Brother John Smith, a devoted official and generous supporter of our Church. A local preacher of fifty-four years’ standing, he had the joy of seeing his work owned of God. A wise counsellor and guide to many young men in their training for the plan, all school and Church work interested him up to the very last day of his life.

On February 12th, 1915, he died very suddenly of heart failure, and was interred at the Sutton Church, near Keighley.
