Askin, John (1848-1911)

Family

John was born in February 1848 at Shrewsbury, Shropshire, to parents Richard, a railway labourer (1861), and Ann.

The 1861 census describes him as a cotton factory worker.

John married Elizabeth Birch (1844-1926) in the summer of 1873 at Froghall, Staffordshire. Census returns identify two children.

• William Enoch (abt1879-1969)

The family emigrated to USA circa 1882, where John became a Congregational minister.

John died in June 1911 in Pottawattamie County, Iowa, USA.
