Following an email to the editors from Matthew Baxter’s descendant Elizabeth Hanley, which contained much more information, there is now a page about his post Primitive Methodist life on My United Methodists https://www.myunitedmethodists.org.uk/content/people/ministers/baxter-matthew-1812-1893
Matthew’s journey into the United Methodist Free Churches began as part of a movement of Primitive Methodists in Scarborough into Independent Primitive Methodism. Do we have any further information about this?
I have added a portrait of Matthew Baxter from his time as a Wesleyan Methodist Association minister.
