Elford, Charles Edward (1851-1930)

Family

Charles was born in 1851 at Hinksey, Oxfordshire, to parents Charles Elford, a retired PM minister, and Priscilla Buckingham.

Before entering the ministry, Charles was a shoemaker.

He married Julia Mary Le Patournel (1856-1940) in Guernsley circa 1887. Census returns identify two children,

• Adele Lambert (1888-1966) – a district nurse (1939)
• Ellice Le Patournel (1888-1965) – an administrator (1939)

Charles died in late 1930 at Fareham, Hampshire.
