Evans, Philip Augustus (1883-1948)

Family

Philip was born on 21 August 1883 at Brown Hills, Staffordshire, to parents William Evans, a PM minister, and Letitia Brace.

He married Rose Eliza Gosford (1881-1969) in the summer of 1908 at Kingston, Surrey. Records identify two children.

• Kathleen Letitia (1910-1996) – married John Robert Ellwood, a schoolmaster, in 1933
• Marion Gosford (1915-1998) – married name Fender; died in Los Angeles, California.

The 1939 Register describes Philip as a clerk in holy orders at Stratton, Cornwall, implying that he transferred to the Anglican communion.

Philip died in early 1948 at Stratton, Cornwall.
