Family
Although the 1851 census indicates that Joseph was born in Scotland, it is more likely that he was born in the Isle of Man.
A Joseph farther was baptised on 2 March 1824 at St Matheus, Braddan, Isle of Man. His parents were Charles Fargher a shoe maker, and Esther Quiggan.
He married Margaret Quine (abt1827-1909) in the summer of 1852 at Liverpool, Lancashire. Census returns identify one child.

The family arrived in New York on 19 May 1854 where he was a minister in the New York Methodist East Conference.
Joseph died on 1 June 1857 in New York, USA.
