Joseph was born in 1851 at Liskeard, Cornwall, to parents John, a sawyer, and Jane.
Census returns identify the following occupations for Joseph.

- 1911 Baptist minister
He married Jane Dyson (b abt1857) circa 1881. Census returns identify two of three children.
- Lilian Beatrice (1884-1942) – married Charles Timothy Dodwell, a retail gents hosier (1911), in 1908
- Wilfrid Dyson (1887-1962) – a schoolmaster (1911); emigrated to USA in 1926; scientist at Field Museum, Chicago in 1930
Joseph dies on 25 May 1911 at Brasted, Sevenoaks, Kent.

Note: I have seen Joseph’s second name in several forms including Window, Windon, and Wendon. I have used the version in his probate record and 1881 census return here. The surname is often spelt without an ‘e’, especially the later records.
