Johnson, Harry Stanley (1905-1942)

Transcription of obituary published in the Minutes of Conference

HARRY STANLEY JOHNSON: born 1906 at Rochdale, Lancs, a son of the manse, he entered the Primitive Methodist Ministry in 1929 from Hartley Victoria College. He was an excellent colleague of the most gracious personality, and never spared himself in the service of the Church he loved. His ministry is remembered with affectionate regard in the circuits he served.

His breakdown in health in 1940 brought a promising ministry to an untimely close; throughout his illness he manifested constant Christian fortitude and cheerfulness. He died, on May 28, 1942, in the thirty-seventh year of his age and the thirteenth of his ministry.
