Kershaw, William Henry (1845-1903)

Family

William was born on 9 April 1845 at Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire, to parents John, a cotton yarn dresser (1851), and Mary.

Before entering the ministry, William worked as a cotton powerloom operator (1861).

He married Lucy Pearson (1839-1923)  in the summer of 1871 at Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire. Census returns identify one child.

  • Sarah Elizabeth (1872-1945) – married Frederic W Gottshalk, a telegraph operator (1900), in 1892; a chiropodist (1920)

William died on 18 June 1903 at New York, USA
