Family

John was born abt1822 at Reading, Berkshire. I have not been able to unambiguously identify his parents.

Census returns identify the following occupations for John.

• 1851 PM minister
• 1861 Church of England scripture reader
• 1871 scripture reader

He married Emma Mary Cooper (abt1821-1895) in the spring of 1848 in the Wallingford Registration District, Berkshire. Census returns identify one child.                

• Edgar John Cooper (1852-1921) – apprentice to watch maker (1871); a watchmaker (1891)             

John died in early 1877 at Southwark, London.
