William was born on 8 December 1818 at Brompton, Kent, to parents Andrew and Elizabeth. He was baptised on 6 January 1819 at Manner Street Wesleyan Chapel, Brompton.
William was in Edinburgh at the time of his son’s birth.
In 1881 he is living with sisters in Salford, Lancashire, described as a gentleman.
He married Martha Waterhouse (abt1810-1868) in the spring of 1847 at Bolton, Lancashire. Census returns identify one child.

William died on 19 November 1883 at Salford, Lancashire.
