Ormond was born abt1797 at Belper, Derbyshire.
The baptism record of Ann (1830) describes Ormond as a labourer.
At the time of the 1851 census, Ormond is working as watch at a cotton factory in belper.
He married Elizabeth Cawkwell (d1840) on 3 April 1828 at Carlton, Juxta, Snaith, Yorkshire. Census returns identify two children.

- Susanna (1835-1857) – a cotton factory hand (1851)
Ormond died in 1855 at Belper, Derbyshire. He was buried on 4 March 1855 at St Peter, Belper.
