Norton, Matthew (1826-1912)

Family

Matthew was born abt1826 at Kings Newton, Derbyshire, to parents James, who worked the land, and Phoebe.

The 1841 census return records Matthew as a cotton Spinner.

He married Anne Lacey (1824-1853)  in early 1851 in the Leicester Registration District, Leicestershire.

He married Selina Tebbutt (b1832)  in the summer of 1854 in the Leicester Registration District, Leicestershire

Ancestry Family Trees report that Matthew moved to South Africa circa 1855 where he was an Anglican clergyman. He died in 1912 at Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
