Nurse, Robert (1841-1902)

Family

Robert was born on 16 May 1841 at Thetford, Norfolk, to parents Robert, a wheelwright, and Mary Ann.

The 1861 census return records Robert as an engineer apprentice.

On leaving the PM ministry he attended Hackney Theological College and then became a Congregational minister. He emigrated to USA in 1873 where his surname is recorded as Nourse.

He married Eunice South (1833-1901)  in late 1867 at Sheerness, Kent. Records identify five children.

• Annie Kathleen (1872-1946) – married Thomas M Talbott
• Margaret Roberta (1874-1922)
• Philip Beecher (1877-1944) – a real estate salesman

Robert died on 27 September 1902 at Falls Church, Virginia, USA
