Robinson, Robert (1840-1921)

Family

Robert was born on 19 November 1840 at Lelley, Yorkshire, to father Martin, a farmer of 10 acres (1851), and Ann.

Robert worked as a miller before entering the ministry (1861).

The family emigrated to USA circa 1872. The 1880 census return records Robert as a doctor at Magnolia, Putnam, Illinois. Records in the USA name him Ethelfred Robert Robinson. He trained at Bennett Medical College, Chicago, qualifying in 1878.

He married Jane Widdows (1842-1912) in late 1864 in the Stratford upon Avon Registration District, Warwickshire. Census returns identify nine children.

Robert died on 14 August 1921 at Pueblo, Colorado.
