Family

William was born on 9 August 1893 at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, to parents Samuel Edwin Robinson, a stationary engine driver (1911), and Sarah Sanderson.

The 1911 census return records William working as a shorthand typist.

He married Annie Metcalf (1900-1988) in the spring of 1933 in the West Derby Registration District, Lancashire.

William died on 23 December 1946 at Christchurch, Hampshire.

Annie married Kenneth L .Smith in 1950.
