Family
Edward was born in late 1861 at Blockley, Worcestershire, to parents Richard, who worked the land (1871), and Eliza.
Newspaper reports on 9 February 1895 record that Edward, a Unitarian minister, was fined 5s. for being drunk and incapable in the street following attending a private party. The magistrates remarked that a minister ought to refrain from such conduct!
Census returns identify the following occupations for Edward.
- 1881 assistant teacher at public elementary school
- 1891 PM minister
- 1901 socialist lecturer
- 1911 schoolmaster
He married Elizabeth Ellen Emmett (1878-1908) in late 1899 at Blackburn. Census returns identify one child.
- Percy Bysshe (b1900) – a seafarer (1922)
Edward died in late 1938 in the Bootle Registration District, Lancashire.
