Petty records that William sailed for South Australia on 9 December 1845.
He married Bridget Ryan (1820-1882) on 29 September 1847 at the residence of William Marshall, Walkerville, South Australia. Family trees on ancestry.com indicate that they had several children.
William died on 2 November 1870 at Port Gawler, South Australia.
