A transcription of a report from Philadelphia in the form of a letter dated 2 March 1831 is attached.

The final two transcriptions cover time in Canada in 1832. These conclude with a snapshot of the Canadian Mission with a list of preaching places and preachers.

Research Notes

The record of William’s arrival in New York in 1829 gives his year of birth as 1797.

Kendall makes reference to William attending the September 1839 Quarterly Meeting of the Hull Circuit.

There is a further record of an entry for William Sommersides into the USA in late1840.

A Rev William Summersides died on 12 May 1868 at Hazel Green, Grant County, Wisconsin, aged 71. He was married to Mary G Cooper (abt1800-1868).
