West, George (1810-1870)
Early years
George was born on 22 December 1810 at Piddington, Northants. His mother died when George was six years old. He was apprenticed to a Wesleyan local preacher, who sent him to Sunday School.
George was converted in 1834, having attended a lovefeast in his native village. He accepted a call in 1838 into ministry through the Scotter circuit.
Family
The 1851 census identifies George as a widower. Census returns do not identify his first wife.
He married Rachel Catton, nee Bilton, (1823-1855) on 12 April 1852 at Roos, East Yorkshire.
George married Mary Jane Spalding, nee Walker (1822-1908) at Brigg, Lincolnshire in the spring of 1859.
George died on 28 October 1870 Camden, London.
