Wicks, Walter Henry (1879-1972)

Family

Walter was born on 2 Jun 1879 at Malmesbury, Wiltshire, to parents Charles John Wicks, a plasterer and tiler (1871), and Martha Badminton.

Before entering the ministry Walter was a schoolmaster (1901).

He married Ella Caroline Wood (1879-1974) in 1905 in the East Grinstead Registration District, Sussex. Census returns identify two children.

  • Miriam (1908-2001) – married Robert S Crossfield, a company director & office manager (1939), in 1929
  • John H (b1914) – a tea taster (1939)

Walter died on 19 February 1972 at Silverdale, Carnforth, Lancashire.
