Family
William was born in the summer of 1842 at Long Clawson, Leicestershire, to parents Joseph Wileman, a master tailor (1851), and Frances Charles.
Before entering the ministry John was an apprentice watchmaker (1861). The family emigrated to Australia between 1882 and 1889.
He married Anne Coxon (1839-1877) on 21 August 1866 at St Chad, Longford, Derbyshire. Birth records identify four children.
- Charles Coxon (1868-1889) – a chemist’s apprentice (1881); died in Queensland, Australia
- Thomas Albert (b1870)
- John George (1871-1911) – a labourer (1909), died in Queensland, Australia
- Mary Elizabeth (1874-1874)
He married Emma Maria Anderson (1844-1900) on 12 December 1877 at St George, Bloomsbury, London. Census returns and birth records identify three children.
- Edith A (b1879) – married Frederick Barber in 1901
- Arthur Goodson (1880-1925) – died in Sydney, Australia
- Edward Anderson (1882-1882)
John died in 1908 in New south Wales, Australia.
