Willis, Charles Simpson (1836-1916)

Family

Charles was born in 1836 at Wickersley, Yorkshire, to parents Richard Willis, a quarry mason (1851), and Margaret Simpson.

Before entering the ministry Charles was an apprentice stone mason (1851).

He married Sarah Ann Clark (1836-1916) in the summer of 1862 in West London. Census returns identify six children.

• Walter Richard Charles (1863-1935) – a book-keeper (1911)
• Matilda Sarah Margaret (1864-1944) – married Thomas Telfer Brown, a farmer (1901)
• Josephine E (b abt1866)
• Castolar C (b abt1871) – a farmer (1921)
• Sylvia Minnie S (b abt1872) – married George J Mitchell, a railway agent (1901)
• Alfred Ernest John  (1874-1942) – a station agent (1901)

Charles died on 8 February 1916 at Saskatchewan, Canada
