In 1839, a great revival broke out in St.Ives; among those converted being the Rev.M.Malkin, a clergyman of the established church in our town. “Attracted by a spirit of curiosity he entered the Chapel at a late hour one evening when the Spirit of God immediately arrested him. In a few days he obtained pardon, left the Anglican Church and preached his first evangelical sermon in our Primitive Methodist Chapel, from Psalm 66:16 ‘come and hear, all you who fear God and I will declare what He has done for my soul'”.
This was an extract from the synod programme which was held at FSMC in 1931 and demonstrates the power of the Holy Spirit to transform lives
