Sarah Ann Abbott, of Wistow, in the Tadcaster Branch of Hull Circuit

SARAH ANN was the only child of William and Elizabeth Abbott and was born on May 10th 1839. Her parents took her to the chapel from a young age and her attachment to it became strong. Her parents obtained for her a missionary box seeing that her heart was inclined to good things. 

She attended the Sabbath school and was very attached to it. ‘It was pleasing to hear her, when she was in health, and after she became ill, tell her parents that she loved Jesus.

She died on Sunday 2nd march 1845 aged five years and nearly ten months. ‘Her parents intend to keep the missionary box in memory of her, and to collect what they can to aid the cause of God.’
