I’ve added pictures provided by Jane Longshaw of a copy of Cousin Jack’s Adventures, presented to John Alfred Cowak in 1882, to thank him for efforts made to reduce the debt on the chapel – an ongoing problem for many Primitive Methodist chapels.
Together with the Sunday School picture featuring on the page, the pictures give two fascinating glimpses into the life of the chapel. What’s the full story?

I think my mother or aunt were more than likely in this photograph. They were very much involved in amateur drama at the chapel.
